Misspell Your Way To More Traffic

A good way to increase targeted traffic to your site from search engines is to use misspelled keywords on your site. Not every internet user is a good speller and millions of searches are being done on misspelled keywords. Why not take advantage of this and help people find what they are looking for while increasing your traffic?

In this example we will use "Weight Loss" as the keyword. You can bet people are searching for weight loss information and spelling the keywords wrong. They are misspelling them because they either don't know how to spell the word, just typing to fast, or just not paying attention to what they are typing.

Ways To Think Of Misspelled Keywords

  • One way I like to use to find the misspellings of a keyword is to quickly type the keyword about 20 times in a text editor. You should be able to come up with some good misspellings this way.

  • Another way is to simply switch some letters around. For example: Wieght Loss, Weihgt Loss, Weight Lsos.

Helpful Tip

If you are concerned about your site looking unprofessional to your visitors you can add a special section at the very bottom of your web page. It doesn't have to be where it is easily seen by your visitors. It can be something like:

Weight Loss Is Commonly Misspelled As:
Wieght Loss, WeightLoss, Weight Lss, Weight Lsos, Weigth Loss, Weihgt Loss, etc...
